I’m still riding the high of having a completed prototype and, as fate would design, I now have some extra time in the mornings to capitalize on that momentum. Facilities issues are forcing us into virtual instruction until Spring Break and that gives me an extra two-plus hours every day to devote to Beatdown in the Holler’s prototype. This week, I plan to:

  • Playtest;
  • Document every issue/bug I can find; and
  • Begin fixing/tweaking the prototype.

I can’t imagine it’s going to be a particularly exciting thing to behold (unless you like data, which I do, so it’s terribly exciting for me), but it will provide insight into how I test, document, and fix bugs. And that insight is as important to me as anyone else, because I’m a neophyte at this part of game development. In other words:

The "I Have No Idea What I'm Doing" meme with the dog pouring a solution from an Erlenmeyer flask into a coffee cup.
Safety glasses are not appropriate PPE when handling reagents, even if they are likely just water and food coloring. You'd think a lab would know better.

Come back Thursday to discover what I’ve uncovered.

As always, thanks for reading!
